CASPER – The Torrington Trailblazer boys cross-country team took fourth at the Glen Legler Memorial Invitational Friday in Casper, with William Fluckiger and Pake Haun leading the way for the Blazers.
Fluckiger turned in a time of 18:34.04 to pace the Blazers, finishing 19th overall. Haun finished 23rd overall with a time of 19:26.11. After one runner cross behind Haun, Torrington had three-straight runners finish. Jacob Polkowske took 25th with a time of 19:52.02, with Quentin Meyer (26th) and Cameron Juma (27th) coming in next, clocking times of 20:03.64 and 20:10.52. Anthony Munoz rounded out the varsity Blazers, finishing 30th with a time of 21:08.42.
The Blazers finished with 116 team points, finishing fourth. Natrona County took first with 33 points, with Kelly Walsh and Sheridan rounding out the top-three.
In the girls varsity race, Jaiden Hopkins crossed the line first for Torrington, earning 19th with a time of 23:56.52. Renee Cline was not far behind, clocking a time of 2$:01.60 to take 21st. Shelby Schainost was the final Lady Blazer to compete in the varsity race, finishing 24th with a time of 24:55.69.
Four Blazers competed in the JV races. Brittany Schlager finished 20th in the girls race with a time of 24:52.30. Tristen Kingsley led the JV boys, clocking a time of 20:15.05 to finish 22nd. Jesse Lay (29th) and Nicholas Sherbeyn (50th) rounded out the JV runners, turning in times of 20:41.76 and 23:07.53.
Torrington returns to competitive action Thursday at the Bayard, Neb. Invitational.
