CHEYENNE – Despite the Lady Lancers racking up nine blocks as a team Tuesday, Eastern Wyoming College fell on the road to Laramie County Community College in three sets.
EWC fell in the first set 25-18. In the second set, the Lady Lancers kept things close, but couldn’t close the set out, falling 25-21, before losing the third and final, 25-17.
Lissette Lefforge and Paige Vitosh led the way in blocks, with three apiece. Kodi Edwards, Dawson Sharman and Katie Strohschein each chipped in one block in the loss.
Strohschein had a big impact in kills, with seven, leading EWC. Sharman added six kills, with another five coming from Lefforge.
In the back line, Helena Khouri amassed 13 digs to top the stat sheet. Kylee Tresch accounted for eight of her own. Tresch also led the way in assists, with 11, followed closely by Alex Simmerman, who had eight. Simmerman had the team’s only ace on the night.
The loss dropped the Lady Lancers to 3-20 on the season, with a 1-4 record in the division and a 1-10 record in the region. They return home this weekend for two games, taking on Mile City Friday at 7 p.m. and Northwest College Saturday at 3 p.m.
