YODER – The Southeast Lady Cyclones dropped their first set Tuesday against Burns in extra points, but rallied to win the next three sets to pick up the home win over a conference foe.
In that first set, Southeast pushed the game past 25 points, but the Lady Broncs still picked up the 27-25 win. Following the opening loss, the Lady Cyclones distanced themselves from the visitors, winning the second and third sets by a score of 25-15 in both. Southeast put the match away, picking up the fourth set 25-9.
Hailey Anderson was again a powerhouse at the net, recording 20 kills and five blocks. She rounded out her stat sheet with 12 digs, an ace and an assist. Ellie Schmitt was second on the team in kills, with 10. She also accounted for team-highs in assists (18), and digs (14). She tied Kelci Lovercheck for the team lead in aces, with four apiece.
Kassidy McClun rounded out most of the assists for Southeast, chipping in three, which she paired with five digs and two kills. Whitney Foos was second on the team in digs, with 13, while contributing three kills, two aces and an assist of her own.
Kylie Carson and Morgan Ekwall were hard to hit around, recording two blocks apiece. They also combined for four kills and two blocks. Lovercheck and Macie Murphy combined for six aces and 12 digs.
The Lady Cyclones improved to 12-4 this season with a 2-0 record in the conference. Their next competitive action comes on the road Tuesday against Mitchell, Neb. The varsity game is slated to start at 7 p.m.
