LAGRANGE – Funeral services for Sandra “Sandy” Marie Kinniburgh Thaler, 66, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at the LaGrange School Gymnasium with the Rev. Richard Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in the LaGrange Cemetery.
Sandy died at the family home with her loving family at her side on Sept. 16, 2017. She battled cancer with courage, dignity and grace for seven years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the LaGrange Fire Department or Naturally Noble ( The casket will be closed. Sandy was born on Aug. 18, 1951, in Rawlins to Stewart and Sophie (Andreich) Kinniburgh. She attended schools in Rawlins through the 10th grade and graduated from Saratoga High School in 1969. She attended the University of Wyoming, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English in 1973. She began her teaching career in Hanna and it was during that first year she met a young man who would change the path of her life.
On Nov. 23, 1974, she married the love of her life, Dennis Thaler and for the next 42 years lived and worked on the family ranch in LaGrange. Sandy enjoyed being a ranch wife and helping with ranch activities. They were blessed with one daughter, Brandy Marie. She enjoyed attending all sports and other activities that Brandy was involved in through the years. Becoming a grandmother to her two grandsons was a treasured role that provided her with some of her cherished moments.
Sandy enjoyed reading, bowling, traveling and playing cards. Friends were very important to her. She was a good friend to many and in turn had many friends. Her faith was very important to her and she enjoyed attending services with the other families from Bear Creek.
Sandy is survived by her husband Dennis, daughter Brandy and son-in-law Kevin Evans and grandsons Hadley and Hudson Evans all of LaGrange. She is also survived by her brother Scott Kinniburgh and wife Deb and niece Courtney Kinniburgh, all of Saratoga.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother and grandparents.
