Southeast goes 4-0 on the road

LUSK – The Southeast Lady Cyclones went undefeated in the round robin Lusk Invitational on Saturday, winning all four of their matches in two sets.

The closest set that Southeast had on Saturday came against Upton, with the Lady Cyclones winning 25-21. They downed Upton in the second set 25-13 to pick up the win in their third game of the day. In its final game of the day, Southeast beat Moorcroft in two sets, 25-14 and 25-20.

Hulett and Guernsey-Sunrise proved to be lesser opponents Saturday, with the Lady Cyclones winning by wide margins in two sets. Southeast beat Hulett to open the day, 25-13 and 25-9. They followed that up with a two-set win over the Lady Vikings, with both sets finishing with a 25-7 score.

Hailey Anderson continued to fill up her stat line. She finished the day with 46 kills, 18 digs, eight blocks and five aces. Her marks in both the kill, dig and block categories were team-highs. Ellie Schmitt paced Southeast in set assists (39) and aces (12). She also chipped in 19 kills and 13 digs.

Kassidy McClun was second on the team in assists, with 18. She paired her assists with 10 digs, three aces and a block. Kelci Lovercheck, with 12, and Whitney Foos, with 11, joined toward the top of the stat sheet in digs. The duo also combined for six kills and three aces. Macie Murphy also helped out in the dig department, with nine, while chipping in three aces.

Breann Hort, Morgan Ekwall and Sheridan Pragnell also spent some time on the court throughout the day, combining for four kills, six digs, three blocks and an ace.

The Lady Cyclones improved to 11-4 on the season with a 1-0 record in the conference. Their next competitive action comes on the road next Tuesday against Mitchell, Neb., with the varsity game set for 7 p.m.
